Two brothers died by drowning in a sand extraction pit in the Teesta River, Lalmonirhat

Two student brothers, Sifaul Karim Sifat and Sohaeb Karim Swachha, drowned in a 15-16 foot deep pit in the Teesta River near Rajpur Union, Lalmonirhat Sadar, on Saturday afternoon. The pit was created by illegal sand extraction for Water Development Board projects, and the lack of warning signs led to the tragedy.
