Over 50 injured by rabid dog in Phulbari, public panic ensues

On February 18, 2026, a rabid dog attacked over 50 people, including children and the elderly, across several villages in Shivnagar Union, Phulbari, Dinajpur. The incident caused widespread public fear, leading residents to kill the dog. The victims received anti-rabies vaccinations at the Phulbari Upazila Health Complex, and one elderly woman was transferred to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for critical care.
