Assault on Forest Department Personnel during Anti-Illegal Sand Mining Operation

On the night of June 4, 2026, forest department personnel, including Gazni Beat Officer Salehin Newaz and a guard, were assaulted and seriously injured by illegal sand miners in the Garo Hills area of Jhenaigati, Sherpur. The attack occurred while the officials were attempting to seize vehicles involved in the illegal extraction of sand and stone.
