Rising salinity in rivers and deep tubewells in Southern Bangladesh

Southern Bangladesh is experiencing severe salinity intrusion in both surface rivers and deep tubewell water. This environmental crisis has severely impacted public health, leading to widespread kidney issues and gynecological complications, while also rendering 52% of agricultural land in the Barishal division saline and unproductive.
