Plan announced to construct a permanent embankment to prevent Jamuna River erosion in Tangail

Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie announced the construction of a permanent embankment along the Jamuna River in Kakua Union, Tangail Sadar, to mitigate long-standing riverbank erosion. The initiative, estimated to cost 50 crore BDT, aims to protect residents from annual property losses and is scheduled to begin in the next fiscal year.
