Khulna City Corporation Rejects Ineffective Larvicide Amid Dengue Outbreak

Khulna City Corporation (KCC) cancelled a supply order for 2,000 liters of larvicide after tests confirmed it was ineffective, achieving only a 12% mortality rate for mosquito larvae. The corporation has initiated an urgent procurement of replacement insecticide from the Narayanganj Dockyard and is conducting efficacy tests on new adulticide to control the ongoing dengue surge in the city.
