Ongoing Riverbank Erosion in Jamuna, Ganga, and Padma River Basins

Riverbank erosion along the Jamuna, Ganga, and Padma rivers has resulted in the loss of over 158,000 hectares of land over the past five decades. Ongoing incidents continue to displace local communities, particularly in areas like Char Girish in Sirajganj, causing significant socio-economic disruption and loss of infrastructure.
