Riverbank erosion and embankment restoration in Chandpur

Between 2019 and 2024, severe erosion along the Meghna River in Chandpur's Puranbazar area destroyed over 100 residential homes and business establishments. To mitigate further damage, an 815 crore BDT embankment restoration project is currently underway, with work expected to be completed by June 2027.
