2,500 Families Left Homeless Due to Riverbank Erosion in Saghata and Fulchhari

Continuous riverbank erosion along the Teesta, Brahmaputra, and Jamuna rivers in Gaibandha's Saghata and Fulchhari upazilas has left 2,500 families homeless over the last 25 years. Delays and alleged corruption in a 101-crore BDT riverbank protection project have exacerbated the crisis, threatening various institutions and agricultural land.
