Embankment collapse in Dekhar Haor, Sunamganj

On April 11, 2026, a section of the Gujauni embankment in Dekhar Haor, Sunamganj, collapsed, causing water to flood into the haor and threatening hundreds of acres of Boro rice crops. Local farmers, in coordination with the Water Development Board, successfully contained the water inflow by using 100 geo-bags and bamboo to repair the breach.
