National Civil Unrest and Government Vacuum Following the Fall of the Sheikh Hasina Administration

Following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024, Bangladesh experienced three days of government vacuum and widespread civil unrest. During this period, the collapse of law enforcement led to looting, arson, attacks on political offices, and prison escapes, resulting in at least 137 deaths nationwide.
