Death of Chhatra League worker in DB custody: Departmental case recommended against 11 including OC

Mirza Ishtiaq Ahmed, a student and worker at Faridpur Sugar Mill, died on June 21, 2026, while in the custody of the Detective Branch (DB). Following an internal investigation into the circumstances of his arrest and death, departmental action and cases have been recommended against 11 police officers, including the former OC of the DB.
