Trawler capsized after collision with launch at Sadarghat, Dhaka; all 10 passengers rescued

A trawler carrying 10 passengers sank in the Buriganga River near Shyambazar, Sadarghat, Dhaka, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, following a collision with the MV Sundarban-12 launch. Initially reported as missing, all 10 passengers were safely accounted for, as 8 were rescued by locals and 2 swam to the opposite bank. The Fire Service rescue operation concluded after all passengers were confirmed safe.
