Two BRAC University students (identified as Md. Labib Wahid/Labib Wadi Sopan, 21-24, and Md. Azwad Tausif/Md. Ajwad, 21-22) died by drowning in the Haji Bari pond in the West Deobhog area of Munshiganj on Friday, May 22, 2026. The students were visiting a friend's residence when they drowned. Local residents and fire service personnel recovered the bodies and transported them to Munshiganj General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
