Man attempts suicide by setting himself on fire after wife threatens divorce

Md. Shahadat Hossain (32) attempted suicide by setting himself on fire at his in-laws' residence near the Posta Police Outpost in Lalbagh, Dhaka, on the evening of October 16, 2026. He sustained 97% burns to his body and is currently in critical condition at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) burn unit.
