SSC student Tanmoy Chandra (Kuri) killed in CNG auto-rickshaw collision in Begumganj, road blocked

On May 6, 2026, at approximately 11:00 AM, an SSC student named Tanmoy Chandra (also known as Tanmoy Kuri, 16) died after being struck by a speeding CNG-run autorickshaw in front of the Begumganj Agriculture Institute and Government Technical School and College on the Dhaka-Maijdi Highway, Noakhali. His friend, Deep (Jeet) Debnath (16), was injured. The incident led to a 1.5-hour protest and road blockade by students and locals. The driver, Nazmul, was later arrested by RAB-11.
