Mob attack and vandalism at Shariatpur Sadar Hospital

On the night of May 15, 2026, a violent mob of 150-200 people attacked Shariatpur Sadar Hospital following the death of a patient. The incident resulted in vandalism of the emergency department and left at least 10 people injured, including Dr. Nasir Uddin (also known as Nasir Islam), who sustained severe head injuries and was airlifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for critical treatment. Hospital staff later protested the incident, and police have arrested six suspects in connection with the attack.
