Severe Riverbank Erosion and Land Loss in Bhola Due to Illegal Sand Dredging

Illegal and unregulated sand dredging using over a hundred dredgers in the Meghna River is causing severe riverbank erosion in Bhola district. This human-made disaster has led to the loss of entire chars (river islands), including agricultural land, grazing areas for livestock, and residential infrastructure, displacing hundreds of families.
